A little late buttt happy happy new year everyone!

2017’s finale was a bit of a whirlwind for our family. Ever since Will’s surgery in November things started to really pile on top of each other and we couldn’t catch a break. (Which is why my blog took a backseat). So there was something super exhilarating about the clock striking midnight and having a fresh start. 2018 is our year, I can feel it. Year of the Grier. I should have shirts made. Ha!

Anyway, this is the first year I’ve actually made new year’s resolutions. I always thought they were cheesy but putting your goals to pen and paper is empowering. They’re not just day dreams in your head, they’re real now! It’s not too late to start either- my resolutions are super realistic ones I’ll consciously work toward throughout 2018 and beyond. While they’re very personal and dear to my heart, I wanted to share some of mine straight from my notes:
Goals for 2018:

  • Consistency on the blog- get inspired!
  • Make time to workout- no excuses!
  • Be present with my family and friends- put the phone down!
  • Drink more water- it’s actually alarming how little you drink!
  • Focus on being positive and happy- it’ll shine out of you like sunbeams contagiously!
  • Work on my faith- it’s tough sometimes!
  • Dance- cause you miss it dearly and you still can!

These are all very realistic and seem pretty simple when you actually see them.
It’s easy for anyone, especially mommy’s, to lose sight of what you’re passionate about and putting yourself and dreams in the backseat; BUT I promise, you’re a better wife, friend, mommy, daughter, teacher when YOU take care of YOU. So use this new year as a fresh start and take control!

Remember to hold yourself accountable but don’t beat yourself up too bad if you fall off track. Balance is key and so is slow and steady progress!

I’d love to hear some of yours and if you have any suggestions on some ways I can better conquer mine!

Before She Turns One

Before She Turns One

Happy Tuesday!

My sweet girl is 11-months-old today. WHAT. This next month will be all about soaking up every second with my not-so-little girl and planning her first birthday party (!!!!!) Not to mention daddy’s games and her first Halloween sprinkled in between. Gosh, I love this time of year!!

Anyways, I wanted to keep this short and sweet because if I talk about her turning one for too long I get emotional. Hope you have a fantastic rest of your week!

P.S. I linked what I could of our outfits below!

Hey guys- sorry I missed ya last week…

Will, Eloise, and I were all under the weather and I was in super-mom mode while fighting it off. That’s the only downside of summer fading into fall, runny noses and sore throats all around! Will and I have been into juicing and healing our bodies with all the vitamin and antioxidant goodness fruits and veggies have to offer and let me tell you, it actually works! Eloise can’t get enough either. We decided our favorite combo is: carrot, celery, orange, lemon, apple and beet. I definitely recommend it- and it’s fun!!

So now that I live where seasons change and it actually gets cold, I’m growing to love jeans. I’ve owned probably one or two pairs my whole life and NEVER EVER wore them. Now, I can’t get enough thanks to two brands: Free People and TopShop! They have made me fall in love with denim. The fit is so comfortable and flattering and I’m not claustrophobic in them! They’re still good investments as far as quality goes while not totally breaking the bank, so I’m a big fan. Pair them with a bodysuit and you’ve got a look you can dress up with some booties or keep casual with a pair of loafers. Will joked that this is my new “uniform” because I’ve literally worn variations of this the past four days lol.

In these photos I’m rocking my Free People high-wasted raw-hem crops and I looooove them! Just a phenomenal pair of mom jeans.

P.S. I linked the other pairs of Free People and TopShop jeans I’m in denim love with.

Look Good, Feel Good, Mom Good

Look Good, Feel Good, Mom Good

Hey guys- hope this post finds you happy & well!

Eloise is 10-months-old now, which is absolutely blowing my mind. I’m going to be the mother of a one-year-old in a matter of weeks. What?! It’s true what they say, “the days go by slow but the years go by in a blink of an eye.” Motherhood is deep, y’all. I actually teared up as I watched her play yesterday… okay, more like sobbed. And okay, that happens more than I’d like to admit, but I just can’t help it! All at once (or so it seems) she’s grown into this beautiful, intelligent little girl with her own personality and sense of humor. I don’t know how to put into words just how crazy it is watching your baby grow into a walking, talking real-life person.

Now that she’s a bit older, getting ready is becoming a bit more challenging. Baby girl is always on the move. She is a product of her daddy, especially when it comes to her fearlessness and determination and the girl is just as fast as she is strong. It’s actually pretty impressive. My days are spent chasing her around as she explores (and tries to eat) anything and everything and she’s not even walking yet! So when it comes to getting the both of us ready, I have our routine down to a science. Some days we master it better than others but I’m not going to lie, getting yourself and a baby ready to go anywhere is never easy and always exhausting!

Although it isn’t easy, I think it’s important for us moms to make the time to get ourselves ready and feel like a million bucks! It’s a game changer, let me tell ya. It doesn’t have to be everyday. There are totally days where Eloise and I are in our pajamas from sunrise to sunset… and then to sunrise again. Those days are awesome but, as you’re cleaning up after, playing with and chasing your babe all day, it’s easy to lose sight of the beautiful, sexy woman you are. I mean, let’s be real, baby food and diaper changes aren’t exactly a recipe for feeling your best and, from experience, that can really put a dent in your confidence. So it’s important for us mamas to make time to feel like ourselves again. And man, changing a diaper is way more fun when you look and feel good doing it.

If you want to know more about my skin care, hair, and make up routines just let me know and I’ll get to work on sharing them with y’all!

Doing Game Day in Style

Doing Game Day in Style

Hey y’all- the greatest time of year is upon us… football season!! Leaves are changing, pumpkin spice is brewing, football players are footballing and I don’t know about you but there’s just something about this time of year that makes me so happy. Or maybe it has something to do with watching Will kill it every Saturday- okay, yeah, it’s definitely that. I look forward to his games all week… especially home games! Not only do I get to watch him do his thing with mountaineer nation cheering him on with me but I get to dress for the occasion.

I’ve come to learn every campus has a different game day style. Saturday’s down south are not taken lightly. You can find girls in dresses or trendy outfits while incorporating their team’s colors. Up north they keep it more sporty-chic while sporting their team’s tee and a cute pair of jeans and chucks.

Well, you can take the girl out of the south but you can’t take the south out of the girl. I’d like to say I found a happy medium and I’m digging it. At UF no one was really seen rocking Gator tees during games while it’s the total opposite here at WVU- I just love the school spirit! So the past three games I’m all school spirit on the top and party on the bottom. That’s how we do it in the Big 12.

Now This Florida girl has to navigate how to dress as the temperature drops… to be continued.

Anyway, I’ve linked a few pieces that have the same feel as what I described for my WVU girls. You may or may not see me rocking this exact game day outfit at a stadium near you.
